Molecule Pages Wiki: A comprehensive signaling database

The Molecule Pages Wiki contains key facts about more than 3700 proteins involved in cellular signaling. For each of these proteins, the database provides a large amount of automated data that provide genetic and structural information, biophysical properties, and so on.

These data are being supplemented with reviews of the functions, interactions and regulation of each protein. These reviews are commissioned by NPG editorial staff, written by experts in the field, peer reviewed, and are citable using digital object identifiers (DOIs).

The Molecule Pages Wiki allows users to explore how proteins interact in complexes or in pathways, with references to the supporting literature. As we add new reviews, the Molecule Pages database is evolving into a model of an artificial cell representing all signaling molecules and their binding partners.
